About The Placebo

We are an all-ages, drug and alcohol free, music and art collective in northern Humboldt County, CA. We book independent bands, hold workshops, and give kids under (and over) 21 something to do! We’ve been putting on shows since 1999.

Most of our shows are at the Ink People We’ve also had shows at E2 and the Vets Hall (Bummerfest!) in Eureka and in the Arcata D St. Community Center and Sacred Grounds (RIP) in Arcata.

We believe it is more important to be real than politically correct, but racism, sexism, homophobia, and other discrimination is not welcome at the Placebo.

There is a $2 yearly membership required to attend our events. It’s basically an agreement that while at our shows you won’t do drugs, drink, or vandalize our venue.

If you’re interested in being on the Placebo Board, or just helping out, we have open meetings at 5:30 pm every 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, in Eureka at the Ink People and in Arcata at the Jacoby Storehouse, respectively. Everybody is welcome no matter how young or old. Email us or comment on the website if you need a ride from elsewhere in the area.
