Art Hang and Knitting Circle

Friday, September 8th, 2006

We had to skip last Friday because E2 was actually hanging art for Arts Alive, but come down this Friday afternoon/evening to soak in the artistic ambience of E2 / The Placebo’s art & hangout space.

We’re having the 2nd meeting of the Placebo’s knitting circle thingy (no name yet; open to suggestions): learn how to knit, purl, switch yarn colors, etc. If you already know how, teach someone else or work on your own project. All ages and genders welcome!

Of course, if you just wanna hang out and talk or read/write/draw/dance/spin in circles till you get dizzy/etc., you can do that, too.

When: Friday September 8, 4-8pm
Where: The Placebo / E2 47B West 3rd St in Eureka (by the new Co-op)
Cost: Free! Bring your own supplies (beginning knitters can use our needles and yarn)

Bummerfest Wrap

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

The Bummer Olympics have come to a close. Thanks to the volunteers and bands who made it happen and everybody who came out to support local music and The Placebo.

We’re totally in awe of Nancy Courtemanche’s contributions in memory of her son Robb Rierdan. She fed the bands, designed and funded the banners and let us display Robb’s amazing art. In case you didn’t hear, Nancy has also set up a fund to help deserving local bands go on tour. If you need (really need, cuz your request will be checked out) funds or equipment to get your band on the road, call her at 407-6968.

People who were at Bummerfest 2006: If you have any photos or wrote a review or something, we wanna see it! We can either put it up on our website or link to it, your choice. Comment here or send email to gimme_info[at]theplacebo.net (Let us know what name we should use to credit your stuff.)

Got something else to say? Talk about it on The Placebo Forums. There’s a Bummerfest thread for you to talk about what you liked, what you thought needed work, who rocked, who had the best dance moves, all that. You know we’re going to do this again next year, right? Get involved! It’s your scene, take care of it.
