Kickball and Clara Clara

Friday, June 8th, 2007
  • Kickball (olympia) infectious move-your-ass indi-pop
  • Clara Clara (france) bass, keyboards, drums = chaotic electronic dance-core

When: Friday, June 8 at 7pm
Where: Sacred Grounds in Arcata
Cost: Sliding scale $3-$5 — there’s no membership required for this show and all the money is going to the bands, so if you could bring a buck to kick down to the Placebo, we’d be much obliged. (y’know the bills ain’t paying themselves…)

Yes! You all ROCK

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Mucho thanks to everyone who showed up tonight. You totally convinced the Eureka City Council that the 47 West Third community deserves to exist. The Times-Standard wrote, “…the council received a roomfull of applause when they voted to waive a permit fee for Synapsis, The Placebo and Empire Squared, all part of the Ink People Center for the Arts.” Oh, Yeah

We still need to raise money, but now the funds can go to improving our space and getting us open ASAP. We’ll be having some fundraiser shows coming up to help with that. Bands! Wanna play a benefit? Let us know.

In other news, Bummerfest planning has started. The next meeting is today (Wednesday) at 6:30 in Arcata at Redwood Yogurt. We’ll alternate between Arcata and Eureka, so you can participate even if you can’t get a ride over the safety corridor. (Psst. Go to our forums to see the themes people have suggested; register and you can vote for your favorite.)

THANKS AGAIN EVERYBODY!!!

  • The Orangeburg Massacre, Don the Reader, and Mortiphobia
a Set the Stage production at the Redwood Peace & Justice Center in “Less Progressive Than You Thought” Arcata

Both shows are $5 and All Ages
